Boca Raton, FL (March 18, 2009) – The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is proud to announce the 3rd  Annual  Gold Coast FCA Celebrity Golf and Tennis Classic to be held  Monday, November 2nd, 2009, at the beautiful Parkland Golf and Country Club in  Parkland, Florida.

 

The tournament with a shotgun start set for 9am will be hosted by legendary collegiate football coach, FAU’s Howard Schnellenberger, for the third straight event  and will  include local and national sports legends, athletes and coaches lead by former Miami Dolphin greats like: John Offerdahl and OJ McDuffie; former NY Giant QB Danny Kanell; former FSU and NY Jet  Marvin Jones as well as baseball greats like former NY Yankee, Bucky Dent; Stan Bahnsen, Larry Hoskins and scores of others from the field of sports.

 

“We created this event as an outlet to create awareness of the sports ministry outreach and to raise funds to support programs and activities associated with the local Gold Coast FCA chapter headquartered on the campus of FAU in Boca Raton,” said Gold Coast FCA Area Director, James Pendleton.

  

This FCA Golf and Tennis Classic is jam packed with fun-filled contests as well as golf and tennis clinics with USPTA and PGA Teaching Pros; raffle prizes and featured keynote Christian athlete speakers and an impressive sports memorabilia live and silent auction. 

 

Costs for golfers is $1,500 per foursome including a celebrity ($500 per individual); $150 per person for the Match Point Ministries tennis pro-am lead by Spiritually Tough Tennis author/pro,

Scott Williams. Additional guests can also attend the  FCA Awards Buffet Luncheon at 12:30pm for a $50 per person donation. FCA Keynote speakers, live and silent auctions, memorabilia raffles; putting contest, longest drive and closest to the pin competitions will highlight the day’s festivities.
